Who We Are
Who We Are
GPS Technology Aids Troops is a site dedicated to building Operation Waypoint. Operation Waypoint is a program sponsored by service organizations, social organizations and the general public to insure the safest possible deployment of American soldiers.
What We Do
The St. Augusta American Legion Women’s Auxiliary is accepting donations. The donations will be used to purchase GPS units along with a Middle East chip at the St. Cloud Gander Mountain. There are seminars conducted by Ed Meyer at St. Cloud Gander Mountain to teach deployed soldiers how to operate GPS units.
How It Works
The St. Cloud Gander Mountain has agreed to give a 10% discount on GPS units and blank chips. This discount is for deployed troops only. Lowrance granted permission to copy its Middle East chip, allowing deployed troops to have detailed information about Iraq and
Afghanistan for the price of a blank chip.
Our Progress
The St Augusta American legion Auxiliary has given out over 100 GPS units with the Middle East chip pre-loaded and ready to operate. Operation Waypoint is being acknowledged nationally with media coverage and in American Legion Magazine.
