Know we are doing the right thing!

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Know that support like this certainly makes us proud of where we come from and whom we protect and serve.  The USA continues to amaze me with their solid backing of troops who serve worldwide.

Thanks as always Ed; you and the supporters are extremely beneficial to morale!

Ed & American Legion Auxiliary Post 621,

Good stuff…

Of all the things that they get, for units who are not in garrison, the GPS has to be the best of all….

We ship hundreds of pounds of toys, food, and laser measuring equipment…but if I had my choice when I was in Vietnam, I would have given anything for a GPS unit…of course, they didn’t even exist in those days…but what a great tool…especially if you are calling in tac air, artillery or medevac…

Thanks so much for helping me support my guys….

Chuck

Thanks

Ed,

Been meaning to get back to you since your help last August.  My brother-in-law is in Wahza Khwah, Afghanistan, which even Google maps can’t find, so the GPS we got him with your and Ben’s help is coming in handy.  Just sent a donation to the St Augusta American Legion for your gpsfortroops.  Thanks for your help and hope your New Year is a happy one.    fb

Thanks Ed,

I have every confidence that GPS units can be real lifesavers…I would have given a lot to have one in the jungles of Vietnam…especially when calling in Air/Artillery support or medivacs….

You are doing God’s work…

Message from Iraq

RE: GPS set up‏

Thanks for your continued help and info.  I will be looking for the GPS units.  They will be of great assistance on patrols out here.  Pretty darn easy to get turned around in a desert.

The support you provide could make a huge difference out on a convoy or foot patrol so know that they will not go unused.

Thanks,

Jamie

Marines get GPS assistance in Iraq

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008
This is Major Armas and Capt Judge basking in the glory of their new gear! Capt Judge is the Headquarters and Support Company Commanding Officer. His company is responsible for internal security on the base, including the Provost Marshalls Office (aka, the Cops). Major Armas is the Fox Company Co and his company is responsible for the terrain that surrounds the base. They are excited to say the least! Major Armas played with his GPS for the remainder of the day and into the evening. He’s a bit challenged but we’ll get him there.

Very Respectfully,
Major C.M. Evans, USMC

Operation Waypoint Helps Medevac Cross Construction

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

SSGT Jaclyn Ciffra, writes from Iraq.  “The GPS unit helped us lay out the coordinates for the medevac cross on a runway they are building.  This is very essentail for all aircraft involved to know where it is located.  The air craft must have the correct information to find this location.”

We love to hear back from the people we’re helping out!  If you have a story you’d like to share with us please, let us know, either by email or comment here on this blog.

Cass Lake Legion Raises Funds For 30 GPS

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

“The Cass Lake, MN American Legion Auxiliary raised enough funds at an event last week to get 30 GPS units & the Middle East chip.  These GPS units will be given to area soldiers being deployed to the Middle East.  Thanks to Denna Dubel and her group for a very fine job.  Thanks also the the people of the Cass Lake, MN area for their support.
The soldiers said the the GPS units & the Middle East chip will allow them to operate much better in the sand storms that are common over there.”

Awesome job!  Thanks so much guys!
